How to use this tool

  1. Select a JPEG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Choose Free for an unconstrained crop, or select an aspect ratio such as 1:1 for a square image or 9:16 for a vertical frame.
  3. Move and resize the crop boundary. Use rotation or the horizontal flip control when needed.
  4. Select Apply Crop to create a preview, then Download to save the PNG result.

Settings, examples and limitations

Cropping removes the pixels outside the chosen frame. Resizing changes the number of pixels in the whole image. If a form requires both a square picture and a fixed pixel size, crop first, then resize the result.

For example, a 1,600 × 900 photo cropped to a centered square keeps at most a 900 × 900 area. The left and right sides are removed. Check that faces, text or product edges still fit before exporting.

Exports use PNG and do not preserve source EXIF metadata or animation. A cropped PNG may be larger in bytes than the original JPEG. If bytes matter, use the compressor after checking the crop.
