How to use this tool
- Choose one image that your browser can decode, such as a JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Select PNG, JPEG or WebP from the output menu.
- For JPEG or WebP, adjust the quality. For PNG, the browser uses lossless pixel encoding.
- Select Convert, compare the original and result, then download the output.
Settings, examples and limitations
Use PNG for transparent graphics or screenshots where crisp text matters. JPEG is a practical choice for opaque photos. WebP supports transparency and adjustable compression. See the format comparison guide for examples.
JPEG cannot store transparent pixels, so this converter fills those areas with white. PNG and WebP retain alpha transparency. Changing a JPEG into PNG does not recover details already lost through JPEG compression.
AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG and JPEG XL are not output formats in this converter. Input support depends on your browser. Animated input becomes a still image; metadata and embedded color profiles are not carried over. This tool handles one image at a time.
